# Simple customization of existing payment methods

Configuration -> Attendee Registration -> Methods of payment

In general, the standard payment methods are already configured and only need to be adjusted slightly.

1. **Check date and adjust if necessary**
   * Make sure that the payment method is no longer available for [bookings made in the backend](/en/attendees/manage-persons-and-attendees/managing-bookings-and-invoices/create-new-bookings.md) after the *End date*. To hide a payment method exclusively in the frontend, the *Visible* checkbox (Fig. 1, point 6) can be deactivated instead.
2. **Define any payment fees for the payment method**
   * *Fee type* and *activity types* (fixed amount or percentage share of invoice amount) refer to the *payment fee*.
   * Independently of this, payment fees can also be stored [manually for each invoice](/en/attendees/manage-persons-and-attendees/managing-payments-in-converia/enter-payment-or-credit-memo-for-an-invoice.md).
3. **Assign a name for the payment type in the frontend**
   * *Name in frontend* affects the display of the payment method for the person making the booking in the frontend (Fig. 2).
4. **Assign explanatory text to the payment method in the frontend**
   * *Explanatory text for frontend payment selection* concerns the display of a note on the payment method for the person making the booking (Fig. 2).
5. **Enter payment method-dependent information issued on the invoice**
   * *Additional text on the invoice is below the items* are **payment method-dependent information on the invoice** (Fig. 3).
   * In the case of using bank transfers, for example, the payment term, the intended purpose and the bank details should be entered here.
6. **Checkboxes:&#x20;*****Active*****&#x20;&&#x20;*****Visible***
   * Has no effect on payments already made.
   * All payment methods required for the event should be marked as *Active*.
   * The checkbox *Active* determines the availability of the payment method in the frontend and backend.
   * The *Visible* checkbox controls the visibility of the payment method in the frontend.
